What is Red Diesel?
Red diesel is a type of rebated fuel with a red dye added to it - hence the name. Red diesel isn't used for ordinary road vehicles like cars or vans.
Red diesel is a low tax fuel - which is why it's marked with red dye, which prevents it from being used for illegal purposes.

Red Diesel Ban: Changes to the Law
Red Diesel is illegal for use in certain industries as of April 2022. The government are cutting down on the use of red diesel, in order to attempt to achieve net-zero emissions by the year 2050. This means that any business that is discovered to continue it as a cheaper fuel source could be facing a heavy fine, or have goods seized.
